The handle is then coated in 8-10 thin layers of Roiro Urushi (black Urushi), with each layer requiring a curing time of at least 24 hours. The final layer of Roiro Urushi is meticulously polished with charcoal for a flawless finish. A final coat of Syuai Urushi (transparent urushi) is added and the handles are hand-polished with ultra-fine, natural polishing powder. Our urushi design is a modern interpretation of the thousand-year-old tradition of Japanese Urushi art, with a focus on design and functionality.

The brush is topped with high-class faux badger bristles, which are extremely low in maintenance and hygienic. The knots are hand-set by us into our beautifully crafted urushi lacquer handles to create a stunning shaving brush that is meant to enlighten your soul and to deliver a thick and lustrous shaving foam.

Measuring 10cm in height, with a brush head diameter of 4.5cm and handle diameter of 2.7cm, this brush comes wrapped in red linen and is well protected in our handmade hinoki wood boxes.
