Iwasaki・岩崎・Vintage Restored Real Tamahagane Kamisori.
Good condition vintage Kamisori from the Iwasaki workshop in Sanjō. The blade is engraved 玉鋼・Tamahagane, the ③ Sanjo Works trademark and 岩崎・Iwasaki.
Directly imported from Japan and restored by us to a hair-popping quality and sharpness.
The lid of the wooden box carries Utagawa Kuniyoshi's Zhang Shun, the Suikoden hero diving through a hail of arrows with his knife held between his teeth, signed 一勇齋國芳画. The blade rests on a chirimen crepe silk cloth.
Box Design
Engraved on the lid is an Ukiyo-e woodblock print of Utagawa Kuniyoshi: "Zhang Shun, alias White Stripe in the Waves" from his series "One Hundred and Eight Heroes from the Chinese Tale, The Water Margin"
